While our apartment hunt continues, the man friend and I are slowly warming up to the idea of us decorating a space together. Let's just say he prefers function over aesthetic and, well, I'll give you one guess as to what side of the fence I'm on. In fact, his main concern, which he voiced the other day was as follows, "You do know our apartment can't be black, white and lots of gold, right?"
My heart sunk a little. But what else would it be?
Which brings me back to the drawing room, i.e. Pinterest, to start hunting for ways to make the space more masculine. And in all honesty, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far! While I'm going to push for a white couch and black accents (sorry Dan!) I think there are plenty of ways to give it more manly touches, like these images above. I love how a crisp white couch is the main focal point, but accents like rustic, natural wood, dark mahogany leather and taxidermy pieces can add a different perspective where I might have otherwise added, say an oversized gold piggy bank.
Needless to say, we have a ways to go, but baby steps, people. Baby steps! ;)
